Luka Šenica was born in Novo mesto, Slovenia in January 1988. After finishing Gimnazija Novo mesto he studied chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. He gained his undergraduate experience in synthesis under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jurij Svete at University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Prof. Dr. Declan Gilheany at UCD University (Dublin, Ireland). In 2011 he graduated from organic chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana and began his PhD study under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jurij Svete. His current research is focused on synthesis of novel vinylogous and heterocyclic analogues of peptides.
